The walkways at Cabrillo National Monument in San Diego feature this grey whale image and strands of sea kelp.

To create these images the concrete was sandblasted to etch the design into the concrete, the more detailed areas required more etching. The whale was stained with grey and white colored stain and the strands of sea kelp, which extend down the walkway for 70 feet, were stained with amber reactive stain. Both images were then sealed with a clear sealer.

Masterpiece Concrete Compositions
Oceanside, CA 92054

Reactive concrete stains were used to create this colorful blue green hallway with intersecting bands. Workers were required to be extremely careful on this job due to the fact that the hallway was framed by wood flooring. Before starting the floor, over 70 color samples were created. Each color was a custom mix of a variety of stains from multiple manufacturers. The final colors chosen ended up being weak dilutions of custom blends. Masterpiece Concrete Compositions did decorative concrete work on the interior and exterior of this home.
