Lakeside, CA 92040

The flooring at the California Hair Design Academy, located in Chula Vista CA, consisted of approximately 14,000 square feet of concrete floors. The client was looking for a floor system that would hold up under high traffic and numerous chemicals such as hair dyes, bleaches, etc. The original floors at the reception area/waiting room, approximately 1,000 square feet, were in terrible shape so a stamped concrete overlayment was applied in an old granite texture along with Brickform's chemical stains in several different colors using a stain stacking process: caramel, mahogany, and jade, then clear sealed with Concrete Solutions super high gloss chemical resistant urethane.

The remaining concrete throughout the building, approximately 13,000 square feet, were simply stained and sealed with our rustic/distressed look, which is accomplished by prepping and cleaning the existing floors and removing any construction overspray, paint, mud, etc. from the concrete and then staining it in its existing condition, including any surface blemishes, cracks, trowel marks, color variations, and so is to be noted that all surface blemishes and defects will still show through after the project has been completed as stain colors are translucent. This is the desired effect to give floors a rustic distressed look.

The interior concrete floors at the La Maestro Community Health Center in East San Diego, received an environmental friendly decorative concrete application. This was accomplished through grinding and polishing the concrete. The leaf designs from the logo of the center were engraved into the lobby floor and then dyed in various colors. The leaves from that circle were engraved into the concrete in various locations throughout the building and colored to match the leaves in the logo circle. The interior floors received multiple custom colors creating fluidness to the design as the colors varied throughout the floor.

A circle of leaves was also engraved into the exterior concrete at the entrance to the building and stained.

This concrete floor was created for a home in Carlsbad, CA that is owned by an inventor. The steps at the bottom of the stairs and the fireplace mantel were poured special, with copper wires and gaskets embedded in the concrete. The main floor was stained with reactive stains mixed to the client's desire. The stains were diluted to a very weak strength so that the floor would not lose its concrete appearance and feel. Curved saw cuts run the length if the floor and separate the green and gray bands of color. The entire floor was sand to give it a rough, natural appearance.
