The Fuddruckers in Modesto, CA received a floor makeover, the high-maintenance carpet was removed and replaced with a low-maintenance long-lasting quality concrete product. The carpet and glue were removed from the floor and lightly sanded to open up the concrete's pores so it could better accept a colorant. To color the floor an acetone-based material for interior concrete from Concrete Coatings Inc. called QuickDye was used. It's easy to apply and can be sealed quickly. The client also got the rustic effect he wanted. In a couple of hours, the crew sprayed a combination of Mahogany, Walnut and Ebony dyes to achieve the desired mottled appearance. The final step involved applying two coats of Aquathane 6000, a food-safe sealer from CTi.

A Flattoo Stencil was used to create this image in a home's entryway. The client asked for a picture of a lighthouse he had found on the label of a Sammy Hagar bottle of tequila. The original image was only the size of a nickel, but it was recreated in a five-foot diameter circle on the concrete floor. The image was taken to Surface Gel Tek and turned into a Flattoo, a vinyl adhesive stencil. Colormaker's Decographic dyes were then applied, one section at a time, to add vibrant color to the image.
